From coquette to grunge, from tumblr-core to lulu sorority girl, 2022 has been a year of fashion exploration for me. a lot of trial and error. lots of time spent in trial in front of the mirror with a mountain of random clothes behind me. it may seem like an obvious observation, but i make the rules here so shut up: i've realized that i've always for whatever reason been obsessed with staying steadfast to whatever trend is popular but still slightly underground at the time, throwing myself into what i'm so certain will be my ‘look.’ after all this searching and evolving i’ve finally found it! coquette for the rest of my life! no...2008 indie sleaze with a business casual twinge-that’s the one. fist of all, what the fuck does that even mean? second of all, i realize now that i’m going through a fashion renaissance. not sure if i used that correctly, but what i mean is that i’ve been going through lot of rapid taste changes and aesthetic merging all leading up to my new approach to fashion: doing whatever i feel like.
feeling in a grungy loose hanging clothes mood that day? then that’s what I’m doing. i’ve accumulated so many different types of clothes that my closet has become an amalgam of aesthetics and i can create whatever wild look my heart desires. honestly my closet has never looked better! where else can you find coquette, edgy, and alexa chung inspired items in one place? i have the fortune of wisdom on my side and i can semi-confidently say i didn’t have a bad outfit this year! at leads not on camera. and if it’s not in your camera roll…did it even happen?
but honestly, my current eclectic closet and free-spirited approach is a reflection of my new similar mentality. simply not giving a fuck. but also giving a big fuck, to the things that are important to me. taking the time to cultivate something important that will last into my future. if it doesn’t spark joy, why bother! so i humbly present to you, treasured viewer, my favorite outfits of 2022!
